South Whittier: Elderly Woman Dead, Man Injured After Attempted Murder-Suicide

07.20.2019 | 11:53 AM | SOUTH WHITTIER – Deputies are investigating after an elderly woman was found dead and a man was seriously injured after an attempted murder-suicide, Saturday afternoon.

Authorities responded to reports of a stabbing at a residence in the 14500 block of Allegan Street around 11:53 AM.

Units arriving on scene found a female deceased inside the home and a male suffering from lacerations.

Firefighter paramedics treated the man on scene before transporting him to UCI Medical Center in unknown condition.

Initial reports indicate the man stabbed the 86-year-old woman to death before attempting to take his own life.

The scene of the incident was cordoned off while authorities continued to investigate.
