South Los Angeles: Shootout Involving LAPD Injures Two

06.03.2020 | 12:15 AM | LOS ANGELES – Two people were injured and three others were taken into custody after officers found themselves in the middle of a shootout involving two groups, early Wednesday morning.

Officers responded to the sound of gunshots near the intersection of Manchester Avenue and Broadway around 12:15 AM.

Units arriving on scene encountered indivdiaals from two-different groups engaging in a shootout.

The officers reportedly opened fire and prompting some suspects to flee.

A short pursuit ended with three people from silver Mercedes-Benz sedan being taken into custody near the intersection of San Pedro and Slauson.

Two individuals from the scene of the initial shooting were treated on scene before being transported to an area hospital inunknwon condition.

It was unclear if the suspects were struck by police gunfire.

No officers were injured and the incident remains under investigation.
