South Central: Two LAPD Officers Injured After Tow Truck Runs Light, Causes Multi-Car Crash
06.03.2020 | 9:52 PM | LOS ANGELES – Two officers were injured after a tow truck ran a red light and caused a multi-car crash, Wednesday night.
Officers were responding to a request for backup when a tow truck ran a red light and caused a multi-car traffic collision at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. and Main Street in the South Central area around 9:52 PM.
Both officers were trapped in their patrol vehicle after the crash and had to be freed using the jaws of life.
Firefighter paramedics transported both to an area hospital in critical condition.
The driver of the two truck and two other individuals from another vehicle were also transported to an area hospital.
Initial reports indicate the driver of the tow truck ran a red light and caused the crash.
