Somis: Man Steals Ex-Girlfriend’s Car, Crashes It During Pursuit, Then Cries When Arrested

03.11.2019 | 10:00 PM | SOMIS – A man was under arrest, and crying, after he crashed his ex-girlfriend’s stolen car during a pursuit, Monday morning.

Officers attempted to stop a reportedly stolen vehicle on the northbound I-101 Freeway near Santa Clara Avenue around 10:00 PM.

The driver of the vehicle, later identified as the vehicle owner’s ex-boyfriend, failed to yield and led officers on a high-speed pursuit through Nyeland Acres.

The chase came to a quick end when the suspect lost control and crashed down a ravine.

Officers moved in and took the man, who was non-compliant, into custody before he began crying.

Firefighter paramedics transported the suspect to an area hospital for medical clearance before booking.
