Soldier Seriously Hurt In Bar Fight | El Cajon
1.22.2021 | 11:00 PM | EL CAJON – A soldier and his brother are both hospitalized with major injuries after being attacked in a large bar brawl Friday night.
Authorities started receiving 911 calls at the 700 Block of Jamacha Rd around 11:00 PM regarding the large fight that broke out.
The Junction Bar & Grill was full of people, with 2 large groups and some smaller groups including a family & friends were saying good-bye to a soldier who is to deploy to Iraq.
Witnesses told the Police that two large groups (approx 50 people) started to fight each other along with the manager/owner and employees of the businesses.
The small group of the soldiers’ family tried to get out of the bar to safety when they were attacked.
The soldier suffered severe facial injuries including broken bones.
The soldiers’ brother came to his defense and was attacked and knocked out. His mother told us, he was not breathing and she gave him mouth to mouth until he started breathing again.
Both men were transported to a local hospital for their injuries.
Others were injured but did not go to the hospital.
ECPD showed up and most of the combatants were running from the scene.
No arrested were made.
The City of El Cajon is not enforcing the COVID-19 Regulations and Bars & Restaurants are open.
ECPD is investigating the incident.
