Slow Speed Stolen Car Pursuit (Spike Strip On Camera) | Los Angeles

08.17.2021 | 11:00 PM | LOS ANGELES – A man led officers on a slow speed pursuit in a reported stolen vehicle throughout the streets of South Central Los Angeles. 77th St Officers located the stolen vehicle in the area of S. Figueroa St and 48th St. Officers attempted to make a stop, and the vehicle failed to yield at slow speeds. Due to the slow speeds, officers were able to coordinate the placement of spike strips in the path of the suspect. (on video) The suspect continued to drive through the streets with three flat tires for approximately 15 minutes. Eventually, the suspect stopped driving, leading to a brief standoff. Officers shot beanbag rounds through the rear window of the vehicle. The suspect immediately exited the vehicle once beanbag rounds were deployed and surrendered to officers peacefully.
