Skydiving Tragedy Leaves One Dead In Perris
At approximately 1:54 p.m. on May 27, 2026, emergency crews responded to reports of a skydiving incident near Ellis Avenue in Perris.
According to Cal Fire Riverside County, firefighters arrived to find two skydivers suffering traumatic injuries. One victim was pronounced deceased at the scene, while a second skydiver was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office later confirmed deputies were dispatched to reports of an air emergency near the 215 Freeway and Nuevo Road.
Investigators located one skydiver in a field east of the freeway, where they were pronounced deceased. A second skydiver was found on the west side of the freeway and transported for emergency medical treatment.
Authorities also located a third skydiver in the area who was not injured.
The circumstances leading up to the incident have not been released, and the investigation remains ongoing.
