Six Escape House Fire As Firefighters Save Two Dogs

Houston firefighters rescued two dogs from a burning home Sunday night after six residents escaped the fire without injuries.

On October 18, 2026, at approximately 9 p.m., the Houston Fire Department responded to a residential fire at 3598 Fulton Street.

Firefighters launched an aggressive interior attack and conducted a primary search, confirming no people remained inside the home.

During the search, crews located and rescued two dogs. Firefighters quickly knocked down the flames, and no injuries were reported among residents or emergency personnel.

Metro personnel were requested to inspect a nearby smoking utility pole possibly connected to the rail system. Officials confirmed the fire originated inside the home, not at the pole.

CenterPoint Energy was also requested to disconnect power to the residence until it could be deemed safe.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Houston Fire Department Chief Kittrell provided an interview at the scene.
