Simi Valley: Suspect Opens Fire During Carjacking Attempt

01.05.2020 | 8:01 PM | SIMI VALLEY – A man opened fire on a car occupied by several juveniles after a failed carjacking, Sunday evening.

Authorities responded to reports of a man who opened fire on a vehicle in the parking lot of Donut Time located in the 3900 block of Cochran Street around 8:01 PM.

Units arriving on scene learned that several juveniles were inside a parked vehicle when a Hispanic male adult approached the occupants and demanded they exit the vehicle.

The suspect, who was last seen wearing a red hoodie fired at least one round from a handgun when the juveniles refused to comply and sped away.

All of the minors were able flee a nearby Target in the 2900 block of Cochran Street and were not injured.

At least one bullet struck the vehicle.
