Simi Valley: Driver Escapes Serious Injury After Train Strikes Vehicle On Tracks

02.122020 | 6:56 PM | SIMI VALLEY – One person was injured after their vehicle was struck by a train, Wednesday evening.

Authorities responded to reports of a traffic collision involving a train on the tracks near the intersection of Tapo Street and Los Angeles Avenue around 6:56 PM.

Units arriving on scene located a vehicle with moderate damage after being struck by a Metrolink train on its way to Moorpark.

The driver of the vehicle was not seriously injured but was transported to an area hospital as a precaution.

Nobody from the train was injured but train service was temporarily halted.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
