Simi Valley: Bus Filled With Children Involved In Multi-Vehicle Crash
09.03.2019 | 9:11 AM | SIMI VALLEY – A school bus filled with children headed to a field trip was involved in a traffic collision that injured five, Tuesday morning.
Authorities responded to reports of a traffic collision involving a bus and multiple vehicles on the westbound SR-118 Freeway west of First Street around 9:11 AM.
Units arriving on scene located a charter bus filled with 40 people, mostly children, and three other vehicles involved in a crash.
Firefighter paramedics treated and transported three patients, believed to be students, to an area hospital. Two other individuals suffered minor injuries and declined transport to a hospital.
The charter bus was filled with students traveling from Bakersfield to the Ronald Reagan Library when the crash occurred.
Initial reports indicate the bus lost control before striking three other vehicles however an investigation was ongoing.
