Simi Valley: Bear Tranquilized, Relocated After Being Found At Business Park

05.22.2020 | 2:00 AM | SIMI VALLEY – A black bear was tranquilized and relocated after being found roaming around a business park, early Friday morning.

Authorities responded to reports of a black bear meandering in the 2200 block of Ward Avenue around 2:00 AM.

Units arriving on scene located the bear walking in the street and requested a game warden respond to the scene.

Once on scene the game warden used a tranquilizer dart to subdue the bear.

A group of officers carried the sleeping bear out from behind a building and turned it over to the game warden who was expected to relocate the animal away from the city.

The bear is believed to weigh over 100-pounds.
