Signal Hill: Man Arrested After Hit-And-Run Crash With Pedestrian

01.11.2019 | 12:23 AM | SIGNAL HILL – A man was arrested after striking a pedestrian and then fleeing the scene, early Friday morning.

Officers came across a pedestrian down in the roadway near the intersection of Freeman Avenue and Pacific Coast Highway around 12:23 AM.

The officer determined the man had been struck by a vehicle and requested paramedics respond to the scene.

Firefighter paramedics arriving on scene transported the victim to an area hospital.

A half-hour after the incident occurred, officers responded to reports of a man advising he may have struck a pedestrian on Pacific Coast Highway.

Police located the man at the intersection of East 15th Street and Hile Avenue around 1:00 AM and placed him into custody on suspicion of felony hit-and-run.

The condition of the victim was not immediately available.
