Sherman Oaks: Officers Injured After Being Rear-Ended By Suspected DUI Driver

10.27.2019 | 12:30 AM | LOS ANGELES – Two police officers were injured after being rear-ended by a suspected DUI driver, early Sunday morning.

Two officers from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Van Nuys Division were on routine patrol in a marked patrol vehicle when they were rear-ended at the intersection of Hazeltine Avenue and Ventura Boulevard in the Sherman Oaks area around 12:30 AM.

The officers radioed for help and additional officers along with firefighter paramedics responded to the scene and located a silver Audi sedan that had collided with the LAPD patrol vehicle.

Both officers in the involved patrol vehicle were treated on scene by firefighter paramedics before being transported to an area hospital in unknown condition.

The driver of the silver Audi was taken into custody and is believed to be under arrest on suspicion of DUI.

An investigation is ongoing.
