Sherman Oaks: Four Hour Pursuit Ends With Arrest

02.15.2020 | 9:00 PM | LOS ANGELES – A wild pursuit that spanned over four hours ended with the arrest of a suspected DUI driver, early Sunday morning.

Officers from the Montebello Police Department attempted to stop a white Cadillac ATS driving recklessly around 9:00 PM.

The driver of the vehicle, a male white, failed to yield to officers prompting a pursuit that lasted over four hours before coming to an end near the southbound I-101 and Van Nuys Boulevard in the Sherman Oaks area around 1:00 AM.

Officers deployed spike strips four times during the pursuit and had to tackle the suspect who refused to surrender at the end of the pursuit.

Several small white rocks were seen being dropped from the suspect’s hands before he was tackled by an officer.

The suspect is believed to have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Speeds of the pursuit remained relatively slow at around 30 to 35 MPH.
