DETAILS:
Firefighters battled a fast moving fire early Sunday morning near 25th St and Van Buren, while also rescuing multiple dogs. Crews we’re dispatched just before 1:00AM this morning. When firefighters arrived on scene, they were met with a large volume of fire and smoke. The fire was quickly spreading into vehicles and threatening nearby surrounding homes. Crews made an aggressive interior fire attack, coordinated with roof operations. During the search, firefighters located several dogs and brought them out to safety. Firefighters were able to save most of the dogs using medical equipment specifically designed for Dogs, called Fido Bags. Unfortunately, some of the dogs did not survive the fire. Firefighters were able to contain and extinguish the fire, saving multiple properties and vehicles that were in close proximity. Fire investigators were called to the scene, but have not yet determined the cause of the fire. There were no injuries reported on the fire ground.
