Serious, Possible Fatal Crash Closes Northbound I-17 | Phoenix

12.11.2022 | 9:00 PM | PHOENIX – A serious crash closed northbound i-17 near Camelback Road for several hours Sunday night and into Monday morning causing a massive traffic backup. According to DPS the incident occurred around 9:00 PM when a vehicle collided with the median barrier wall then collided with a secondary vehicle. Fire crews and troopers arrived to find an unresponsive victim with serious injuries. Fire crews transported the victim in critical condition to a local trauma center. According to DPS radio traffic heard hours into the investigation, the wreck is now being investigated as a traffic fatality incident. DPS has yet to confirm said radio traffic information.
