Serial Burglars Hit Arts – Rec Skate Shop & 9Five Eyewear Again

DETAILS:
- The owner of 9 Five & art- -rec stores called SDPD to report that two men were breaking into his store(s).
- Officers arrived, and the suspects were already gone.
- This is the 6th-7th, since July 4th, that men have been breaking in and burglarizing the businesses.

- The loss yesterday was approx. $3-4000 in clothing and shoes.
- Since the series started, the businesses have lost approx $100,000 in merchandise.
- The 9 Five store sells eyewear, and the art- -rec store sells skateboards, clothing, and shoes.
- The owner also said that his storage building in the back has been broken into several times since April.
- A few weeks ago, someone broke all of the business’s front windows and door glass. and graffitied other windows.
- They have a security video showing the main suspect (wearing all black), who is the one person breaking in every time.
- Both of these males may be related as they both appear to be suffering from a medical condition and can be easily identified.
- they appear to have “Vitiligo,” and the condition is heavily visible on both hands. For most of the break-ins, he was wearing gloves, but this time, he was not.
- The owner gave us some of the surveillance video but asked that we not use it until the SDPD Detectives give us the go-ahead as they are looking for the main suspect.
- The loss today is unknown. The owner is taking measures to secure the business.
- The businesses have been located here for the last 6 years.
