Semi Plunges Off 10 Freeway Connector Into Construction Zone

A semi-truck cab plunged off an elevated freeway connector and into a construction area early Sunday morning in Ontario, leaving the vehicle heavily damaged.

On October 11, 2026, at approximately 12:26 a.m., California Highway Patrol officers, Ontario firefighters, and ConFire EMS responded to a traffic collision on the westbound 10 Freeway to southbound 15 Freeway connector.

CHP officers arrived to find a heavily damaged semi-truck cab that had gone off the elevated connector and crashed into the construction area below.

Despite the significant damage, the driver declined medical treatment and was not transported to a hospital.

CHP requested Caltrans to respond after discovering damage to the guardrail along the freeway connector.

Wet roadway conditions are believed to have possibly contributed to the crash, although the exact cause remains under investigation.

The California Highway Patrol’s Rancho Cucamonga Area is handling the investigation.

No additional information was provided at the scene.
