Semi Overturns After Crashing Into Disabled Tesla

At approximately 9:56 a.m. on May 5, 2026, emergency crews responded to a major traffic collision on the eastbound 60 Freeway near Frederick Street in Moreno Valley.

Responding units located an overturned semi truck and a Tesla with major driver-side damage.

According to investigators, the Tesla was disabled on the right shoulder with a flat tire when, for unknown reasons, the semi truck sideswiped the vehicle and overturned.

The Tesla driver was transported to a hospital with unknown injuries, while the semi truck driver was not injured.

Authorities reported the overturned truck was leaking diesel, oil, and paint cargo, prompting a hazmat response to the scene.

Lane closures remained in place as crews worked to contain the spill and clear the wreckage.

The investigation remains ongoing.
