Security Guard Shoots Woman After Parking Lot Fight

At approximately 10:30 p.m. on April 14, 2026, a shooting occurred in the 5800 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard in Houston following a disturbance in a parking lot.

According to investigators, multiple individuals were involved in a physical altercation that escalated before several parties left the scene. A security guard remained at the location along with one woman, and a second confrontation occurred shortly after.

Authorities say the situation escalated when the woman approached the guard again, at which point the guard discharged his firearm, striking her.

The victim, described as a woman in her late 40s, was transported to a hospital after being shot. Her condition has not been released.

The security guard remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. Officials are reviewing surveillance footage and consulting with prosecutors as the investigation continues.
