Santa Paula: Driver Ejected After Crashing Into Homeless Encampment
10.20.2019 | 4:00 AM | SANTA PAULA – A man was ejected after losing control of his vehicle and crashing into a homeless encampment, early Sunday morning.
Authorities responded to reports of a traffic collision with an ejection on the westbound SR-126 Freeway just west of Peck Road around 4:00 AM.
Units arriving on scene located a solo vehicle that apparently lost control before crashing down an embankment into a homeless encampment.
The driver of the vehicle was ejected and trapped under tree branches.
Several nearby homeless living areas were nearly struck by the vehicle and ejected driver.
Firefighter paramedics treated the driver and solo victim on scene before transporting him to an area hospital in unknown condition.
It was unclear if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. An investigation is ongoing.
