Santa Fe Springs: Vehicle Hit By Train After Crash

01.11.2019 | 2:15 AM | SANTA FE SPRINGS – A train collided with a vehicle that was launched onto railroad tracks by an earlier crash, Friday morning.

Officers responded to the reported crash at the intersection of Rosecrans and Marquardt avenues around 2:15 AM.

Units arriving on scene located a damaged Metro rideshare van along with a Lexus SUV that had been struck by a freight train.

Initial reports indicate the Metro rideshare van collided with the Lexus SUV forcing it onto active railroad tracks.

Good Samaritans saw the crash and assisted the female driver out of the Lexus SUV before a train impacted the vehicle.

Luckily, no injuries were reported as a result of either crash.

Police are investigating but do not believe alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
