Santa Fe Springs: Downed Power Lines Spark Big Rig Fire

11.29.2018 | 11:10 PM | SANTA FE SPRINGS – A semi-truck went up in flames after downed power lines sparked a fire, late Thursday night.

Firefighters responded to numerous 911 calls reporting a semi-truck that was on fire in the 15300 block of Spring Avenue around 11:10 PM.

Crews arriving on scene found a parked semi-truck with heavy fire showing from the cab and quickly extinguished the fire.

During their efforts, firefighters observed downed power lines that were arcing. The downed lines likely started the fire that quickly engulfed the truck.

No injuries were reported however the cab of the semi-truck was completely destroyed.
