Santa Clarita: Semi Truck Fire Spreads To Nearby Vegetation

09.10.2019 | 3:49 PM | SANTA CLARITA – Flames from a semi truck that caught fire spread to nearby vegetation but was quickly extinguished, Tuesday afternoon.

Authorities responded to reports of a vehicle fire on the northbound I-5 Freeway near Weldon Canyon Road around 3:49 PM.

Units arriving on scene located a big rig with heavy fire showing from the tractor portion and flames spreading to nearby vegetation.

Firefighters quickly doused the blaze and confined the vegetation fire to under 1/8th of an acre.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
