Santa Clarita: Deputy-Involved Shooting Leaves Suspect Dead Outside Sheriff’s Station

03.01.2020 | 2:29 PM | SANTA CLARITA – An armed suspect was dead after a deputy-involved shooting outside a sheriff’s station, Sunday afternoon.

Deputies were beginning their work day at the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s station in Santa Clarita when they spotted a man armed with a handgun around 2:30 PM.

The man approached a secure parking area at the facility and deputies attempted to detain him.

The suspect refused to comply and a deputy-involved shooting occurred.

Firefighter paramedics responded to the scene and transported the suspect to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

A handgun was recovered from the suspect after the fatal shooting and no deputies were injured.

The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation.
