Santa Clarita: Active Shooter At Saugus High School Leaves Two Students Dead, Multiple Injured
11.14.2019 | 7:40 AM | SANTA CLARITA – An active shooter incident at Saugus High School left at least two students dead and many others injuries, Thursday morning.
Authorities responded to reports of an active shooter with multiple victims down at Saugus High School located in the 21900 block of Centurion Way around 7:40 AM.
Deputies arriving on scene learned a male Asian student had used a .45 caliber semiautomatic handgun to open fire on at least five classmates before turning the weapon on himself.
Two of the five students, a 16-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy, were fatally wounded. Three other students were transported to area hospitals in unknown condition.
The suspect, who authorities reported had turned 16-year-old on the day of the shooting, was hospitalized as a result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. His condition was unclear.
An extensive investigation is underway but authorities say no other suspect is outstanding.
