Santa Clara: Man Shot Dead By Police After Opening Fire Inside Gas Station

01.05.2019 | 5:42 AM | SANTA CLARA – A heavily armed gunman was shot dead by police after he opened fire inside a gas station, Saturday morning.

Officers responded to reports of an active shooter with multiple victims down at a gas station at the intersection of Lafayette Street and Aldo Avenue around 5:42 AM.

Units arriving on scene found the reported shooter and confronted him. An officer-involved shooting ensured and the suspect was shot.

Firefighter paramedics later pronounced the 55-year-old male shooter deceased on scene.

No additional victims were located but witnesses informed police that they observed the suspect randomly shooting at passing motorists.

Officers cordoned off the area while they worked to collect evidence from the scene.
