Santa Clara: Firefighters Help Clear Trees Blocking Road

01.17.2019 | 12:15 AM | SANTA CLARA – Firefighters stepped in to help clear trees that had fallen onto a roadway amid a rainstorm, early Thursday morning.

Firefighters responded to reports of two large trees that had fallen onto a Idyllwild Road near Highway 17 around 12:15 AM.

Crews arriving on scene located the large trees blocking the roadway and sparred no time working to remove the trees.

Firefighters could be seen using chainsaws to cut apart and remove portions of the downed trees from the roadway.

County crews were expected to respond to finish removal of the trees but were backlogged due to other weather related calls.

No injuries were reported as a result of the collapsed trees.
