Santa Barbara: Deputy-Involved Shooting Leaves Suspect Dead After Woman Found Murdered Inside Home of Ron Ely

10.15.2019 | 8:15 PM | SANTA BARBARA – A man who police believe murdered a woman inside the home of actor Ron Ely was shot and killed by deputies responding to the scene, Tuesday night.

Authorities responded to reports of a domestic dispute at a home in the 4100 block of MAriposa Drive in Hope Ranch around 8:15 PM.

Units arriving on scene found an elderly woman dead inside the home actor Ron Ely, famous for his role in the 1966 movie ‘Tarzan.’

While clearing the home for potential threats deputies located a male suspect and a deputy-involved shooting occurred.

The man, who police believe is related to the initial murder, was pronounced deceased on scene.

An elderly man was inside the home at the time of the shooting as it reported to be unharmed but there was no word if the man was Ron Ely.

The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation.
