Santa Ana: Train Crashes Into Car Killing Driver, K9 Passenger Survives

01.06.2020 | 5:30 PM | SANTA ANA – A Metrolink train struck a vehicle killing the driver but a dog inside the car managed to survive, Monday evening.

Authorities responded to reports of a traffic collision involving a train near the intersection of Grand Avenue and Hunter around 5:30 PM.

Units arriving on scene located a Metrolink commuter train that struck an occupied white sedan.

Firefighter paramedics determined the driver was deceased on scene but miraculously a dog was found alive in the wreckage.

The condition of the dog was not immediately available.

Passengers aboard the Metrolink train were being bussed from the locations as crews worked to clear the scene.
