Santa Ana: Officer Injured After Crash Involving Patrol Vehicle

09.23.2019 | 1:30 AM | SANTA ANA – A police officer was injured after a crash involving his patrol vehicle, early Monday morning.

Authorities responded to reports of a traffic collision near the intersection of Civic Center Drive and Main Street around 1:30 AM.

Crews arriving on scene located a two-vehicle crash involving a marked Santa Ana Police Department patrol vehicle.

Firefighter paramedics treated the officer on scene before transported him to an area hospital with multiple injuries.

The officer was expected to survive his injuries.

The driver of the other involved vehicle declines medical treatment on scene.

Officers closed off area surrounding the crash for several hours while they investigated.
