Santa Ana: Man Shot In Cheek While Reportedly Playing With Gun Inside Car

09.12.2019 | 9:15 PM | SANTA ANA – A man shot himself in his cheek while playing with a gun inside a vehicle, Thursday night.

Authorities responded to reports of a shooting in the 1400 block of East McFadden Avenue around 9:15 PM.

Units arriving on scene located a male inside a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound.

The man reported he had been approached by a suspect who opened fire before fleeing, however after further investigation police say they believe he shot himself.

Firefighter paramedics treated the man on scene before transporting him to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police are continuing to investigate.
