Santa Ana: Jogger Struck, Killed By Hit & Run Driver
05.18.2020 | 11:03 PM | SANTA ANA – A pedestrian who was jogging along a street was struck and killed by driver who fled the scene, late Monday night.
Authorities responded to reports of traffic collision involving a pedestrian in the 1900 block of South Raitt Street near West St. Gertrude Street around 11:03 PM.
Units arriving on scene located a pedestrian down in the roadway suffering from major trauma after being struck by a driver who fled the scene.
Firefighter paramedics attempted to revive the pedestrian but pronounced them deceased on scene.
Initial reports indicate the victim was jogging along on the street when they were struck.
Two drivers stopped to call authorities after seeing the downed pedestrian.
No suspect vehicle description was immediately available.
The identity of the victim including age and gender was not disclosed.
