Santa Ana: DUI Suspect Arrested After Ramming Police Vehicle, Leading Officers On Pursuit

05.12.2020 | 9:20 PM | SANTA ANA – A suspected DUI driver who rammed a police vehicle was taken into custody after a pursuit, Monday night.

Authorities responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle in a parking lot located in the 5700 block of La Palma Avenue in Anaheim around 9:20 PM.

Units arriving on scene located a blue Chevrolet Avalanche occupied by a male driver.

The driver rammed at least one police vehicle as officers arrived on scene and then fled.

Officers pursued the suspect along the I-5, SR-55, SR-91, SR-57, and SR-22 freeways for about an hour before the driver exited the freeway and came to a stop in a gated apartment complex in Santa Ana around 10:20 PM.

The suspect was quickly taken into custody without further incident and it expected to be booked on suspicion of DUI among other charges.
