Santa Ana: Anti-Donald J. Trump Protest Turns Violent
11.09.2016 | 1:00 AM | SANTA ANA – More than 650 anti-Donald J. Trump protesters took over the streets of Santa Ana pelting police officers with fireworks, rocks, and bottles, early Thursday morning.
Over 180 police officers from various Orange County law enforcement agencies responded around 7:00 PM Wednesday night in anticipation of anti-Donald J. Trump protests near McFadden Avenue and Bristol Street.
What began as somewhat peaceful turned unruly as the night continued with protesters vandalizing businesses and vehicles. This prompted officers to form a human wall and push the protesters back.
By 2:30 AM the majority of the protesters had dispersed, leaving seven adult and three juveniles in custody on various charges including assault with a deadly weapon, public intoxication, and vandalism.
No serious injuries were reported.
