Sanderson Fire Scorches 900 Acres in Beaumont
12.13.2020 | 1:00 PM | BEAUMONT – A large brush fire is actively burning near Beaumont with 0% containment this afternoon.
CAL FIRE/Riverside County firefighters responded to reports of a wildland fire in the area of La Borde Canyon Road and Jack Rabbit Trail, south of Beaumont, earlier Sunday morning.
Firefighters had difficulty accessing the fire due to it’s location deep into rugged terrain.
As of 10:00 a.m. – The fire is 900 acres and 0% contained. An evacuation WARNING has been issued for the homes north of Gilman Springs and South of Timothy Lane. This includes Jerry Street, Mc Gehee Drive, Alberta Lane, Laurene Lane, Lisa Lane and Kevin Road. The evacuation warning impacts less than a dozen homes.
The area around the blaze remains closed as firefighters continue to fight the blaze.
