San Marino: Police Rescue Hostages From Home During Armed Standoff
09.11.2019 | 10:00 PM | SAN MARINO – Police officers rescued three people from a home they were being held hostage in, Wednesday night.
Authorities responded to an unknown type call in the 2100 block of Sherwood Road around 10:00 PM.
Units arriving on scene were met by a man armed with a gun and learned that several individuals, including children, were being held hostage.
An armed standoff ensued for hours before officers used distrative devices to disorient the suspect and rescued three hostages from the home.
The suspect further barricaded himself inside the home’s basement before eventually exiting the home.
A police K9 and less-lethal ammunition was deployed to take the man into custody.
The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
