San Jose: SUV Lodged Into Apartment After DUI Crash

11.10.2018 | 9:15 PM | SAN JOSE – A suspect DUI driver lodged his SUV into an apartment building near San Jose State University, Saturday night.

Police responded around 9:15 PM to the intersection of 6th Street and San Salvador regarding reports of a vehicle that collided with a building.

Officers arriving on scene found a white Lincoln Navigator three-fourths of the way lodged into an apartment building. The driver had apparently fled on foot.

Additional units scouring the area located the suspect and returned him to the crash scene where they performed field sobriety tests.

The driver was eventually arrested on suspicion of DUI and hit and run.

No residents were inside of the apartment at the time of the crash.
