San Jose: Pedestrian Struck, Killed by Rental Truck

11.13.2018 | 2:10 AM | SAN JOSE – A woman was dead after being struck by a box truck on a busy freeway, Tuesday morning.

Authorities responded to reports of a pedestrian down in lanes on the northbound I-280 just north of the I-101 around 2:10 AM.

Units arriving on scene found a female pedestrian laying unresponsive in the roadway. Firefighter paramedics pronounced the woman deceased on scene.

Initial reports indicate the woman was struck by a Budget Truck Rental box-truck traveling northbound . The driver of the truck immediately pulled over following the collision and appeared to be cooperating with authorities.

It was unclear why the female was on the freeway at the time of the crash.
