San Jose: Officer Downed During Violent Protest

05.29.2020 | 5:00 PM | SAN JOSE – An officer was downed during a violent protest in downtown, Friday evening.

Hundreds of individuals gathered in the downtown area to protest the killing of George Floyd and police brutality around 5:00 PM.

The protest eventually turned violent with protesters pelting officers with rocks and bottles.

One officer was struck with a rock and downed during the clashes and had to be evacuated from the scene.

The officer suffered unknown injuries but appeared to be in stable condition.

It was unclear how many arrests were made.
