San Jose: Homeless Man Shot While Sleeping Behind Store
12.25.2018 | 12:30 AM | SAN JOSE – A homeless man was struck by gunfire while sleeping in his tent behind a local store, early Tuesday morning.
Authorities responded to reports of a shooting behind Market Center at the intersection of Lenzen and Stockton Avenue around 12:30 AM.
Units arriving on scene located a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg.
The man reported he had been sleeping in his tent behind the Market Center when someone shot into his tent.
Firefighter paramedics treated the man on scene before transporting to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police are on scene investigating the shooting.
It was unclear if the man was targeted due to being homeless.
