San Jose: Fire Chars Strip Mall Laundromat

11.14.2018 | 12:55 AM | SAN JOSE – A laundromat inside a strip mall was charred after a fire broke out, early Wednesday morning.

Firefighters responded to reports of a fire in the 900 block of South Bascom Avenue shortly before 1:00 AM.

Units arriving on scene discovered heavy smoke and fire showing from a laundromat located within a one-story strip mall.

Crews initiated an aggressive fire attack to protect adjoining businesses and extinguish the blaze. Within 20 minute firefighters had control of the fire.

The laundromat was substantially damaged however adjoining businesses within the strip mall were not impacted.

Investigators were on scene evaluating the cause of the fire.
