San Jose: DUI Driver Causes Fiery Freeway Crash

01.05.2019 | 12:55 AM | SAN JOSE – A suspected drunken driver was under arrest after a fiery crash, Saturday morning.

Police and fire officials responded to the reported crash with fire on the southbound I-101 at McKee road around 12:55 AM.

Units arriving on scene found a two-car crash with one vehicle well-involved with fire.

Crews worked to extinguish the fire and treated at least one person on scene before transporting them to an area trauma center with serious injuries.

Another individual, who authorities suspect was driving under the influence, was taken into custody and transported to an area hospital for medial clearance.

Officers are on scene continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
