San Jacinto: Armed Robbery Suspect Dies After Crash While Fleeing Scene
03.24.2020 | 1:18 PM | SAN JACINTO – An armed robbery suspect was dead after he crashed into another car while fleeing the business he had just robbed causing him to be ejected, Tuesday afternoon.
Authorities responded to reports of an armed robbery with shots possibly fired by an employee at a business in the 2200 block of West Esplanade around 1:18 PM.
Deputies responding to the scene learned that the suspect fled the scene of the robbery in a vehicle and located a two-car crash involving a vehicle with a matching description on the Ramona Expressway near Hanson Boulevard.
Units determined that the suspect was speeding westbound when he crashed into another vehicle causing him to be ejected.
Firefighter paramedics pronounced the suspect deceased on scene and transported two other individuals from the second vehicle to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The circumstances surrounding the initial robbery report remains under investigation.
