San Diego: Woman Fights Off Suspected Kidnapper Met From Dating App

07.27.2020 | 1:00 AM | SAN DIEGO – A woman fought off a suspected kidnapper she met on a dating app, early Monday morning.

Authorities responded to reports of a fight on the southbound I-5 Freeway at Viewpoint around 1:00 AM.

While responding units were advised that the female victim was armed with a knife and that the male suspect had a bat.

Units arriving on scene learned the woman was able to escape from the male who fled in a vehicle going southbound.

Officers stopped the suspect vehicle and detained the suspect without incident.

Inside the suspect’s vehicle officers discovered the female victim’s purse.

It is reported that the woman met the man on a dating app and that he attempted to kidnap her.

An investigation is ongoing.
