San Diego: U.S. Border Shut Down By Migrant Caravan Attempting Entry
11.25.2018 | 11:00 AM | SAN DIEGO – Authorities closed the U.S. border in San Diego after an arriving migrant caravan attempting to overrun the border.
Officials locked down the San Ysidro border shortly before 11:00 AM and requested the presence of additional agencies as migrants attempted to overrun them.
Numerous agencies, including the U.S. military, responded in force to close the border and keep the migrants from crossing into the United States.
Using riot gear and a large presence of force, officials were able to hold back the migrants. At one point tear gas was fired at crowds that neared the border wall.
Additional reports indicated migrants were throwing rocks at the officers however no injuries were resulted.
The border remains closed as a large police and military presence continue to deter refugees from illegally crossing.
