San Diego to OC Pursuit of Carjacking Suspect | San Clemente

10.16.2021 | SAN CLEMENTE – The male suspect showed up at a construction worksite and signed in to work.

He didn’t have a helmet or safety vest and was given one.

After a short time, the suspect car-jacked a Ford F-350 with a crane on it and fled the work site crashing through several gates.

Law Enforcement saw the truck later in the morning and followed it from Hwy 52 to SR-125 and then attempted to pull him over.

The suspect fled at a high speed (up to 90 mph) and drive to Hwy 94 westbound into San Diego and then north on the I-5.

Many agencies were involved.

Law Enforcement (including the US Border Patrol )was able to use spike strips several times and hit his left rear tires.

In Orange County, the suspect left the freeway and then went back on.

He then attempted to drive through some vegetation with the left rear tires gone and hit a ditch and then a tree.

The suspect attempted to flee on foot but tripped and hit the ground.

He was taken into custody and appeared to be under the influence of some type of substance.

He was transported to a local hospital.

He will be facing several felony charges.
