San Diego: Ruby The Dog Rescued From Sinkhole
02.06.2019 | 9:00 PM | SAN DIEGO – A dog who got loose and become trapped in a sinkhole was rescued thanks to the efforts of firefighters and the San Diego Humane Society, Wednesday morning.
Authorities responded to reports of a golden retriever named Ruby that had become trapped in a sinkhole that emerged in the 7900 block of Park Village Road around 9:00 PM.
Crews arriving on scene found the dog down the sinkhole and initiated a rescue.
Using a ladder, rescuers descended into the hole and successfully retrieved secured the dog before bringing her to the surface.
Ruby, the dog, was uninjured and immediately returned to her thankful owner.
The sinkhole was secured pending the response of city officials to repair the hole.
