San Diego: Qualcomm Corporation Shuts Down I-905 To Test Autonomous Vehicles

10.13.2019 | 12:05 PM | SAN DIEGO – A massive stretch of the I-905 Freeway including access to the Otay Mesa Border Crossing was closed to test autonomous vehicles, Sunday afternoon.

Authorities shut down the eastbound I-905 Freeway from Caliente Avenue to La Media Road around 12:05 to accomodate for the testing by the Qualcomm Corporation.

Several vehicles outfitted with sensors and other equipment could be seen traversing the closed stretch of roadway.

Reports indicate that the Qualcomm Corporation paid for the closure for most of the day to conduct testing.
